Struggling with HS

Hi, I’m James, and I am struggling with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS). I have been living with it for about 8 years with periods of remission. My HS is related to weight and diet.

At the age of 42, I’m finally ready to make permanent lifestyle changes to put HS in remission once and for all.

If you are feeling hopeless, like I was in the early days, keep reading. There is hope and I am not selling anything.

It can be a lonely existence living with HS and I just want to share, in the hopes of helping a fellow sufferer.

This blog is place to share my experience with HS and what I do to put it in remission. This is my first post and will act as my initial weigh in.

Weight: 224 lbs
Affected Areas: Arm pits
Height: 5′ 10″
Sex: Male

To start things off, I will wien myself off carbs and sugar, by eating eggs, cheese, meats, couscous, and gluten free chicken tenders. Clean, low carb, low sugar, basically keto.

The chicken nuggets are the bridge from sweets (cornbread, candy, cakes) to low carb.

I mainly eat the low carb items but when the carb craving is bad or I’m getting a headache, a few of those nuggets with a squirt of ketchup is huge, early on.

The final phase is a carnivore diet. Steaks, eggs, cheese, chicken, fish. No vegetables or carbs. If i’m going hardcore, I’ll do two weeks of just steak, salt and water, but I have to build up to it.

Ok, I’m going to take some pictures and will be back with and update soon.
